This is the route I've gone down - now just to explain it to the rest of the team and hope they remember (not hopeful!)

    Hi All,

I'm attempting to add a Generic Annotation family (containing a label) into a Generic Model family in order to report the type mark of the Generic Model family automatically in plan.

    Thanks Elton.

Very used to the 'how Revit works' limitations - this just seems like such an obvious flaw that could be easily resolved.

Thanks for the replies, but that's not really the issue.

Ok, I get that, but it does seem quite a 'dirty' way of using the software.

I like the idea of making the 'column' sections GMs and hosting them in with a normal curtain system though

Doesn't this break the intelligence within Revit of being able to schedule the curtain wall types and curtain panels etc...?

Because this is a modular family that will be used on multiple projects.

Personally, I find families far more manageable and useful than grouped elements (especially grouped 3D and 2D elements).
