    We are using a Kinect hooked up to a tablet for small scale point clouds already. I have some pics of them on Twitter.

    Would you trust the Kinect data to represent an accurate as-built condition, and build a model over it? If not, do you feel the limitation is the sensor or the software? Or is it really all software, anyway?

    I'm looking forward to the day when I get to wear a Kinect sensor on my head, and wander around a job site recording "space". Instant respect, I'm sure!

    Were using it for scanning very small things right now. I wouldnt use it for extreme tolerance scanning, where fractions of an inch are critical.
