Using a profile parameter to define a sweep profile within a family

I have a simple family I built to insert a recessed aluminum handle into a cabinetry element, I want to be able to change the profile of the handle using a family parameter to select from a range of profiles I have loaded into the family.
I have made a profile type parameter which picks up the various loaded profiles however I can't make my sweep use this parameter to select the profile it uses.
    Any suggestions?

    Matt.

I hope this help. try to use Yes/No Parameters on your handle and just create a type parameters showing that profile that you want.

Do you mean make multiple sweeps and assign a yes/no visibility parameter so only the one I want is visible?

Thanks for that - I would prefer to make the profiles relate to a parameter as it is a bit more elegant but that is a good workaround.

Profiles cannot use Family Type parameters, unfortch. If they are recessed make the recess a face based family that has the void and profile in it, and use the FT parameter to select different FB families and profiles.

Yep that was my conclusion, I was hoping some bright spark knew a way to do it.
It seems like you should be able to as they include a profile parameter in their standard parameter types...
    Laaaaaaame.
What can you actually use the profile parameter for if not this?
