    Default visibility/graphics settings Revit 2013

What is it that controls visibility/graphics when a new view is made? When I create a new section, most of the worksets are set to "hide", most of the filters are set to "invisible", sections are set to "invisible" etc. I would like to change most of these so that the default setting is different. Anyone who can help?

    Thanks.

You can make a View Template the "default" that is used when a new view is created. In 2013 if you have View Templates linked to View Types, ity uses those. If they arent linked, it will use whichever one is set to Default. Its annoying to find the Default one, but if you go to the project browser and right click on a Wall Section, and hit Apply View Template, and select one, youll see an option for "Make this the default when new sections are made." The button is at the bottom left. Now when a new section of that Type is created, it will have those settings.

Thanks. Im not entirely sure what you mean by "View Templates linked to View types", but as this project is an upgrade from Revit 2012, I guess that they arent linked.

Anyway, when I right click on a section (I presume thats what you mean by a Wall Section?) in the project browser, I can "Apply Template Properties", but not "Apply View Template". In the "Apply Template Properties" dialogue box, I can't find a "Make this the default...." button anywhere. Any further suggestions?

If you go into the type properties for a view you will find the options you are looking for under identity data. View Type Properties - WikiHelp

Oh that's true! In 2013 they moved it there as well.
