I tried to sell them to Autodesk to become the OOTB doors, once. Got told they were too complicated. LMAO.

"Ours are very simple to use."
"Yeah, but yours cant represent real architecture, so it doesnt matter that they are simple. They dont do the job."
"......... ours are very simple to use."

Im over simplifying, but you can see the issue.

Somebody there once told me that they freaked out when they saw my 80+ page handout from a conference class I did on doors. Something to the effect, "we've got to do something about that...it can't take 80 pages to make a door...". In my defense, it covered a wide range of concepts, wrapped up in a door as the vehicle.

A few users have mentioned the doors are easily selected while hovering nowhere near the door. I had one reference line for the door swing that was a bit longer than necessary.

Has anybody else had similar complaints?

That wouldnt surprise me, in the least. Most of the Reference Planes are probably all set to IsReference, as i was way too busy (back then) to bother turning them off. I think even the current Prlx doors are that way. Im turning them off (to not a reference) in the next round of changes.

I can't seem to get the nested SF door not to break when someone adjusts the mullion to zero our the "CW Variance" parameter.
for now I have done away with it, and I am thinking of just building geometry with a hatch so that in elevation people can see they need to adjust the mullion to meet the door or door frame.

BTW, anyone showing door swings in an RCP for coordination purposes ? I don't want to have 3d swings in my door thought... I think it is just too much geometry.

I'm not using them. If for some reason I needed to I'd add in the doohicky that Aaron's doors has and let Navisworks do it's thing
