    Rotating nested Families?

Can anyone tell me why I cannot get the nested family to rotate? I'm trying to make a 45-90 degree option. I've linked the angle parameter, I've tried making it so that the reference lines are the same when brought into the family, I've tried locking and unlocking. I just cant seem to make it work when I flex the family. Help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Nested families have to be face based and placed on the ref line. Load your p-trap and f.d. families to the face based GM family templates, assign all parameters and then load them to your parent family. You can reverse engineer enclosed family to see how its made. I played with the geometry only, no pipe/plumbing parameters.
