Hi All,
I currently like to use split faces to control the locations of connectors on my bigger sized families (like a RTU). However, it appears that this brings in shape handles and I'm wondering if anyone knows how to not have shape handles.
Thanks
What is the relation between split faces and connectors? That's not clear. Can you provide an example?
The split faces are used to host the connectors.
So an example would be a roof top unit where the two ducts come off the bottom of the unit, or the gas line connects flush with the face of the geometry. I would use a split face as a host to control where the connector is located on the face of the geometry.
You mean, you split a surface in a family to find a specific place for a connector instead of the default center of the face? I am trying to understand. If a connector needs to be off center, the location can be controlled by parameters. I still don't see why you would split the face of the duct to place a connector. Wouldn't that affect the graphics of the duct in the project, showing extra lines on the surface?
Yes. you are saying that I can control the location of the connector directly? I was under the impression that the connector could only be at the center of the face.
The extra lines wouldn't be a problem as there are actual holes there, they just happen to be flush with the overall face.
