Can anyone module Bus duct? With correct category and its parameter.

Bus duct is similar to cable tray and duct. But not its profile and parameters.


My concern is we cannot edit system family

What I notice that all are duplicating cable tray or duct family and rename it as a bus duct

That is an interesting duct, haven't seen it before. To my knowledge there is no way inside of Revit to edit any system families, which is a shame. I suppose you could make a family to represent your straight pieces, though without routing options you'll be spending more time creating the model.

I use Fabrication Parts so I can't use routing options anymore. However, I can't complain too much, I have more control over the end product.

That's all you can do. Or you can create generic models, but it won't systematically stay connected if you go this route. It will, however, be geometrically accurate.

We use a cable tray with the correct sizes and fittings that are 'closed'. I dont recommend using a Duct because that really annoys the mechanical people who have to keep filtering it out of thier ventilation views and schedules.
If you display the cable tray in Medium it also looks like a bus in 3D.
