Had been using GraphiStation run by landline link to a server farm in Ohio (o_O) run on a bunch of Vax 750s before going to Grad School. My senior year of undergrad, Kellog-Rusk donated their Auto-TROL cad system to the College--eight dumb terminals, a vacuum plotting table the size of a billiards table, a thermal printer, and six, count them, six processor & memory units the size of apartment refrigerators in a separate room.

Every day, I try to be grateful that we have all these marvels among us (even when they are a PITA )
I learned to Type on a Tandy 1000. lol. Then again... i was 5.

Lol, IBM Selectric in High School--way nicer than the Underwood "Portable" at home

In the 70s I worked at a firm where about half the "old hands" used Ruling Pens to lay down ink lines. I (eventually) learned to be only half-good with a ruling pen, straight lines only, though. Compass or French curve? No way.

Oh, and BTW, my Grad School "Computer Lab" had a TRS-70, and a "full color" TRS-80 (woohoo!)
