Has anyone ever found a fix for optimus not working in Revit on NVIDIA Quadro cards when on windows 10 1803 or 1903? Currently trying to get this to work on a Dell Precision 5520 that has an i5 7300HQ and an NVIDIA Quadro M1200 and I am getting numbers that of integrated graphics.

    Hello Gordon,

I'm using your RFO_Benchmark_v.3.2_2020 to benchmark Revit 2020. I encountered an error while trying to run "TerminateBenchmark_2020.ps1". I got this error: "Can't restore Revit.ini: failed to load XML file". It seems that it comes from the variable $revitVersion which is still '2019' so the file "RFOBenchmark_2019.xml" doesn't exist as the one which exists is "RFOBenchmark_2020.xml".

    Thanks for your work!
    Marc

    Hello Gordon,

I'm running some extensive testing on different machines both in Revit 2019.2.2 and 2020.2. (Some very beefy notebooks, some normal ones, a strong workstation and a virtual server).
The RFO test for Revit 2019.2.2 runs just fine, but when I want to launch it for Revit 2020.2 It runs painstakingly slow, or not at all. Do you have any idea what the problem may be?

    Kind regards,
    Jonas

Questions for other people's Full_Standard test:

Anyone noticing a difference with RAM configurations? I'm seeing almost identical results from 2666 vs 3200.

Is the render test the most important, since we pan/rotate/zoom more than we export DWG? Model creation test is feeling pretty consistent for very different videocards (m4000 vs rtx 2080).

My time of test results are all over the map. some machines are 3+ hours, others are under 20 minutes. Is there a time people normally see?

Regarding RAM, it should not be that big of a difference. When I tested 2400mhz vs either 3800 or 4000mhz (cant remember, was back when the 7th gen 7700k was new) the results only varied by 2-3 seconds, so from 2666mhz to 3200mhz I would not expect more than a 1 second difference. I use 3200mhz because it is the sweet spot in price to performance right now but in laptop builds I go 2666mhz because of the same reason as SODIMM prices are much different. Keep in mind your RAM timings matter too. A sloppy 3200mhz vs a tight timings 2666mhz can cause performance to be similar.

the GPU portion of the RFO benchmark does not really vary much from what I have seen in these post. As long as you're not on the intel igpu it seems revit is happy. That said, I like the RTX 2060 as a good baseline Revit GPU but even the GTX 1660ti would do well, they just do not always have the video outputs I want.

Is there a way to run the benchmark using the "viewer" flag? I have a license for Revit LT, but also have expired trials installed on my machine.

Getting a "process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process" from Notepad at the end of a run... any thoughts?

    Edit

NM... I pulled the folder from Dropbox onto my desktop and it worked just fine. Guessing something to do with DB uploading at the same time the benchmark is trying to write to the file.

Benchmarking resolution is wrong. I'm not sure how this was mixed up, since this is the resolution I use at work on external monitor. And also, CPU is undervolted -165 mV if anybody cares.
