So what you're saying, (and I am saying this in all seriousness, but with levity) is that in order to properly use Revit, one must convert the majority if not all of the ootb, (what would they be) non-system based families?

What im saying is: To properly use Revit to do any kind of quality design work, one needs to thrown out the entire OOTB Library, and never ever touch it again.

And sadly, i dont say that with any levity. Revit (as software) is fantastic. The crap that ships with it as content (all of the walls, doors, furniture, light fixtures, casework, equipment, whatever) is all trash. Dumpster fire it. Its been 9 years since i even had an OOTB library available, for use in the office i worked at.

Things like Casework shouldnt have EVER been modeled as wall hosted.
The concept of hosting to an object (wall, ceiling, etc) and having them stick together is great. The problem is it doesn't work well, especially in groups.

To be fair, some of the newer OOTB content isn't terrible. It still needs cleaning up (no more than anything from a manufacturer / aggregator), but it is way better than the old content.
