Shape Handles not snapping in wall-hosted families

Is this a known Revit limitation? We have un-hosted cabinet families that have instance width parameters, and wall-hosted cabinets with the same thing. We can drag the shape handles of the un-hosted cabinets and they'll snap to nearby objects (walls, ref lines, etc) However, our wall-hosted cabinets don't "snap" to anything. We have to get close enough and then use the align tool, but this results in some lazier or more novice users just stretching the families "close enough" which causes errors down the road.

I've just created a generic wall-hosted family and can replicate the issue.

Shape handles are strange animals. They play a funny game between parameters and Refernces.
My guess would be your Reference Planes are different between the Base and Wall cabinets

Check the "is Reference" strength of the reference planes, if they are set to "Not a Reference" there will be no snapping or shape handles. If they are set to strong or any of the named settings (Front, Back, etc..) the snapping will be strong. The weak setting will be as expected weak snapping.

Just to add...when using the align tool in the project, "strong" RP's will stretch an instance based dimension. "weak" RP's will shift the family over.

EDIT: Just to be clear, our shape handles are showing up and stretching our families just fine. The issue is when we're dragging the handles of wall-hosted families, they don't snap to nearby elements (e.g. grid lines or adjacent walls). Non-wall-hosted elements' shape handles snap to nearby elements just fine.

The reference planes are set to Left and Right. Everything is exactly the same between the two families except the host type.

This behavior is the same with Doors (we have an adjustable/extendable sidelite that won't snap) and any other wall-hosted family we try to create.
This behavior is also the same even with Autodesk's own wall-hosted families (e.g. windows)

Can anyone upload a wall-hosted family where shape handle grips actually snap onto nearby elements? Thank you

Weird. I'm seeing the same behavior, at least in quick testing. I guess I never noticed because I almost never use the shape handles
