    Naviswork

    Hi guys,

I am on naviswork for clash detection and I was wondering, is there a way to make a rule that make my structural beams and columns not clash? within the rules I saw, it only mention all the same category or data, in this case it is not the same value or category so it is not working..

Also, on revit we can make parameter with a visibility filter. I was planning to put parameter on revit to say unfinished, so when they choose that parameter, we don't see their unfinished stuff on our model in naviswork for the clash detection. Is it possible to create parameters like that in naviswork, for example ''hide'' all the elements that are ''unfinished''.

    Thanks for your help

    1. Don't think so. Only way I can think of is to setup different search sets for various elements and don't have beams and columns set to clash each other.

    2. I don't think you can add parameters like that in Navis. You can either a) not export those unfinished elements b) set up a search set that uses that unfinished parameter which can be used to not clash or be used to quickly select those elements and hide them.

It looks like this option should do what you want if you have a Beams and a Columns set defined.

And if I have parameter of visibility in revit, for example can I refuse the clash dpeending if it is on or off?

thanks for your reply, the problem with that set is that I have nothing in my list to select.. comparing from the one with categories where I can go pick the revit element !

I don't understand how that list can be empty, have you defined any Search Sets in Navis?

If you did not, go look into Search Sets, they are the reason Navisworks can do various cool things.

That should also answer your parameter/visibility question, just make a set with a query on All Elements from that file depending on your on/off parameter.
