That would happen to me when I used to work on a laptop.

selecting a 3 metre long beam (or anything else really) then using the auto 3D section box in Revit 2020 presents me with a 3D view zoomed waaaaaaay out, because it has to show me the "Make Element Editable" icon when viewed from the ionosphere.

I have to deselect elements and then zoom to fit. Which is stupid.

The element circled in red is the selected beam.

Might be a bit hard to see but there is an image thumbnail above this line of text.

I don't know if you just confused something or what happened because I just tried and it works perfectly fine for me, in the sketch editing mode, drawing tool selected and all that shazam. I used it millions of times.

Revit just wants you to think of the big picture. Isn't everything editable, man?

I've personally hated that the Copy Multiple checkbox won't stay on by default as my preferred choice forever, not just per session.

The 'Drag Elements On Selection Button' aka. "Ruin Your Project Forever"

I really want to know WHO ASKED FOR THIS? I want to high-five them. In the face. With a chair.

Why don't Autodesk be helpful and make the tooltip for this stupid little button 'RUINS EVERYTHING. This tool will ruin your life forever."

Oh, and thanks for making it ACTIVE in a default install.

People hate on this option but I can't imagine life without it. It's the first thing I enable when people have turned it off. I've gotten so used to it that it just feels wrong to have it off. Yeah, my mother told me I rode on the short bus cause I'm special.

That button has caused many phrases to be spoken that sounded like timeless traditional voodoo curses

Speaking of useless - nay, couterproductive - buttons:
How about "Minimize to Panel Buttons?"

That's the little down-arrow to the right of the Modify tab
I teach a Revit class and every single class someone clicks on that and asks "What happened to my Ribbon?"
Even worse, if you double-click on the "white space" to the right of that button, it also makes your icons (or your entire Ribbon) disappear.
I always tell my class the only reason for that button is so you can click on it again after you've accidentally clicked it the first time.

To be clear, when you say enable you mean enable the lock which turns off functionality of select/drag, correct? I've never heard any complaints about that button. The most common response I hear is, "Oh I never knew what that did." which always reminds me how little curiosity people have in a distinctively Revity depressing way.

If I had an issue with that button it would be that it exists. It should just be standard that you need to select first and then click again to drag.
