    Global Width

    Hi everyone,
I was wondering, is there a way in revit to do a global widht like in autocad where you can start a line for example @ 3 and end up @7.
I use this technique for creating depth in roofing so I was wondering if it is possible!

    Thanks for your help!

If you're talking about a PLine that gets wider along its length, no there isn't anything like that in Revit (other than a Filled Region)
You could probably create some sort of a Line-based family that would accomplish that, but I have to wonder what you want this? Why not create a Roof with a variable depth?
In other words, actually model it like it would be built.

yeah this is what I am talking about,
the goal is that when you start your line wider, and end up smaller, it creates a depth in a 2D shape. with regular lines in revit, the line is the same thickness the entire time which don't have the same. It just gives the illusion that the roof actually gets further when you do it that way, it is purely illustrative thanks for your reply! I will try to find a way !

Ah. You're talking about a pen weight. I thought you were looking for tapered insulation.
Not exactly the same as line weights, but Depth Cueing should accomplish what you're looking for.

if it's depth perception in views, there is a tool in Revit for Depth Cueing:

(EDIT: oops, i see DaveP just posted the same thing!)
