    Show in View?

In Revit 2019, is there a way to "show in view?" Like the opposite of "hide in view?"

I have a plan that has a steeply sloping set of seats in a theater. The view level is at the top and the bottom seats are about 20 feet below that. I am not sure how to set the view range up for this and so far I can't get everything to show up.

I would think there should be an override for the view range, such as "show in view."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Select the elements you want to see.
Click on the Eyeglasses icon at the bottom of the window.
    Click on "Isolate Element"

If you want to set up different view ranges in a plan view, use Plan Regions: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/suppo...E4CEE-htm.html

You can set a plan region's view depth bigger than the view's.

You can use plan regions - they create an area that can have a different view range within a broader plan. They can be a bit finicky, but might be what you need. I've also overlaid plans on the sheet some situations where i want to see something a floor below, but want to control it separately - that is less likely to work for theater seating.

I am pretty familiar with plan regions. One thing I don't like about them is there is a step around the perimeter - if that makes sense. Also, I have gotten it to work by adjusting the view depth to the level below (nudging that number up a bit) and adjusting the bottom of the primary range to about 20 feet down, using the same level. I don't know why I still get the heebie jeebies when setting up the view range even after all these years.

You can use 'pick line' during the creation of the plan region, and you can select the boundary of an element (sometimes it depends on how the family was modeled). So if you just want to show one element it's basically ~ 3 clicks. (plan region>pick line> tab tab > click > finish ). My experience is that if you making an element visible this way, Revit doesn't mess up the lineweights of the element. You can also copy and array plan regions, it sometimes can be quicker.

Or you temporarily change the view range, then override the objects using the modiy/linework tool: you can tab to select the whole object.
Then put your view range back and they will show
This wont work if you place more objects ; youll have to do it again so view range editing is a lot more robust as you have done
