    Duct Transition Area Formula. Please Help!!

    Afternoon Peeps,

    I'm trying to add a formula for working out the area of square to square duct transition. I've added the Area Parameter and now i can't get the formula to work??
    Here it is:-

    (Duct Width1 * Duct Height1 + Duct Width2 * Duct Height2)*Duct Length

    It keeps coming up with inconsistent units

    Is this even right way to calculate a transition??

    Please help! Thanks in advance

    In your case Revit calculates units in this way:

    (mm * mm + mm * mm)*mm = (mm + mm)*mm = mm

    If you divide the expression by 1 mm, you get mm squared:

    mm / 1 mm = mm

    i.e. full formula::

    (Duct Width 1 * Duct Height 1 + Duct Width 2 * Duct Height 2) * Duct Length / 1 mm
