    Floor Plans not aligned

my floor plans (not the ones placed on sheets) are not lining up. normally in a project when you open another floor plan, say the level above or below, it opens in the same position you were looking at when you opened it. i tried googling but everything that comes up is talking about aligning them on sheets and thats not my issue.

Do you already have the views open? Make sure all your views are closed (except for the one you're looking at) and then try opening your other views.

What does it look like in 3D?
Are you saying your Walls don't line up with each other?
Or just that when you open a View, it's not in the same place within the window?

TBH, I don't see what the problem is.
If you can't see all of the plan, just zoom or pan.
Where the graphics show up on-screen has nothing to do with the the elements are in the model or on a Sheeet

it isn't a huge deal and that is what i am doing but when your doing a 25 story building it helps a lot to fact check piping and unit layouts a lot. it only takes 20 seconds or less to pan over then re-figure out what you were looking at but when your doing it 100's of times a week it adds up. its a lot easier if you're looking at a stack on 4 and want to see what it needs to do on 18 when it stays in the same place. its the same reasoning you want your sheet floor plans positioned the same, to save the viewer time when reviewing rather then constantly re-positioning themselves.

You might want to look into pyRevit's Sync Views feature

the sync view is nice but it only partially solves it if i have all my floor plans open it works great but if i need to look at a floor that isn't open it doesn't work. for example, say im looking in the middle of the building when i open a new floor plan with my views synced it pulls all of them a couple thousand feet south west. so i will still have to pan back to my project zoom back in and re find what im looking at. when your looking at plumbing its not just pan back to the mechanical room or stair well its look for this stack follow it up and over. with my views synced i cant even go back and see what unit or where in the building i was because when i open the new view it pulls all of the views off to egypt.

Hmmm, does setting up 3d views aligned to each floor plan (basically section boxing according to view ranges of each) help? Havent tried it myself, just a thought.
