Adding turning vanes to a mitered elbow

Is there a reason that Revit MEP Metric Content V2.2 has turning vanes in the mitered elbows and the Imperial version doesn't? I made a copy of the Imperial and modified it for my own use and need to show them. I went into CADmep to edit the database and couldn't get it there either. The Metric database shows all sorts of options for turning vanes and the Imperial doesn't. My database skills are very limited which may be the problem. I am using Revit 2020.

Revit turning vanes (air turns) are driven by the CADmep specification or the ITM (via lock in ITM edit).

You will need to create the turning vanes in the main database and either apply them to the specification, or edit the ITM and select them on the ITEM tab.

    Welcome to database management.

I just copied the Square Elbow ITM and added the Vanes in. Worked great.

I tried this and I can see the square bend but there is no option to add a turning vane. I am missing something. I copied the ITM from Version 3.06 and it has the turning vanes there. And the icon has the turning vanes in CADmep and in Revit.

Check your main database to see if there are any Airturns listed.

They are not listed in my database. I tried creating my own and using the data from V3.06 that was a shot in the dark. I have been looking for tutorials on how to edit ITM's and can't seem to find much. I do find pics of menus that edit them but they don't tell me how to get to that menu.

After you create the airturns in your database you can edit the item as shown below. R-click, edit.

Now this leads me to another funny thing. If I change the elbow to a 45 the turning vanes disappear. I can make it a 45.0001 degree el and they appear again. This also happens in the V3.06 database which had the turning vanes in the nineties to begin with.

Minimum angle controls this. Set your view to manufacturing rather than Drawing.
