    Existing Room Tags Best Practice

Currently, for our TI sheets, we will create a view that includes existing room elements and tags and nothing else to place over the top of the renovation view that includes the new work. I have been told that this is not necessary and that all of the existing room elements should be just simply copy/pasted into the new view. Do any of you see issues with either approach? What is best practice?

Rooms do not react to the phasing, so rooms you placed in the existing phase will not show up in the new phase.
If the rooms stay the same and you wanna tag them in your new phase as well, best thing is to just copy and paste them from your existing phase, so I agree with what you have been told. This way you can also change a room name in the new phase if needed at some point for example and you won't mix up rooms and names at a later point in time.

Having rooms react to phases would be VERY nice, but so far that is not the case

We copy/paste them into the new phase. They usually get a parameter so we can filter/color fill existing rooms if needed. We will manually tag them differently. The rooms are important for our consultants too, since sometimes rooms that are existing with no work architectrually require new work in other disciplines (especially electrical)

We use the overlay plan method for the demo plans though, since "Show Previous + Demo" shows new rooms, which isn't logical or useful.

I second Robin's desire for phased rooms!
