    Inventor to REVIT

    Hi guys,

I have a partner that did had to do some rackings. He did it in inventor and it is complete. Is there a way to import his CAD 3D shape into revit so it becomes a generic model?

    thanks for your help.

There is a BIM tooling module in Inventor that is decently ok in making/converting to clean Revit geometry.

If you start looking through the Inventor folders in Program Data or Program Files you can also find the Revit Family Templates that the exporter uses and customize them. I did this a few months ago with an advanced Inventor User and we got decent results after just a day of testing/experimenting with different settings.

No Dynamo needed for this atm.
