Get Pipe Connector to Adopt Calculated Flow + Assign it to a Family Parameter

Hello. I am working on a project where I am modeling buildings and the piping to and from them from a central plant. I am creating building families as mech equipment and attaching connectors to them set as preset flow configuration with collected values. Some of these buildings have branches off of them. In these cases I want to have the branch pipes coming into the building add up together to calculate the main flow in and out of the building. I have made a simple example model to show a similar example.

What I am trying and failing to do is having the calculated values from the branch pipe connectors (set to flow configuration=calculated) automatically assign the value to gpm parameters I created. Then I will set the main gpm to be assigned to a parameter that is the sum of the branch flow value parameters. In summary, The main issue here is just getting the calculated flow from the branch connectors to add up and assign to the main flow connector. Let me know if you have any ideas or questions. Any help is appreciated.
