Hi, I'm the new BIM Manager for a small firm who is just starting to use BIM 360. We have 2 offices. What I'm researching today is: Can we have a 'Firm Wide' Family Library hosted on the cloud -BIM 360 Document Management is what we are using? I'm trying to consolidate all the Families that have been used over the 12 years, by all the folks that have come & gone. They have been using Drop Box to share files, but the plan is to move everything to BIM 360.
There isnt really a great way to do that, currently.
A number of the content managers out there have their own hosted offerings, but right now BIM360 doesnt have a way for companies to host their own libraries, and access them efficiently, other than just making a trashy BIM360 project that has all the content loaded in, which is an AWFUL answer.
I wouldnt recommend putting your content on BIM360.
Latest update of Autodesk desktop connector might change this wisdom. Much more stable integration.
