Hello! I'm a very new Revit user. I used ArchiCAD for 14 years, absolutely loved it, but recently switched firms. One big things that jumps out at me - why are the exterior elevation markers so ugly? Can they be changed to something more like the attached?
Thanks in advance.
Almost anything in Revit can be customized.
Although, I'll admit Elevation markers are a tad complicated.
Here's an Autodesk article that explains how

One thing about Revit's Elevations: They are really geared towards Interior Elevations, which want to have all four directions on one Tag, rather than four separate bubbles
Welcome to the Forum.
Sounds like you landed at a firm that never got around to (or hasnt cared to) customize their Elevation Heads. It wasnt possible for a number of years, and i think it because possible in 2008? Maybe it was 2007. Sometime around then. But because its broken up in to two families (Body and Pointer, as Dave mentioned) some firms never got their head around it. So we still see the "ugly OG Revit square" a lot.
But you can make them look a lot of different ways. Including similar to what you show.
As Dave Mentioned, the main "Body" family ALLOWS you to put multiple "pointers" around it, which doesnt work awsome with the arrowhead that wraps the circle, how yours is shown. But ours is like that too, and we simply tell people not to use multiple pointers on the Exterior Elevations (its rarely a need regardless).
Interior elevations we make the Pointers terminate tangential to the circle, so we can fit more pointers in a room.
One thing about that type of exterior elevation markers is that the middle line will rotate from horizontal when creating a view parallel to a wall that isn't orthogonal to the view, BUT if you add an extra pointer at an angle perpendicular to the wall, the line will stay oriented correctly. It makes for a messy looking family, but nicer looking drawings. Obviously you'd want to do this per project.

Thanks everyone. I get to step 6, and can't actually draw anything. This is a bit above my skills at this point.
I see a possible option at RevitCity. See image.
RevitCity is a pub I don't frequent but it does have some of the oldest Revit beer ever made by some of the earliest founding Revit users. They (RevitCity) copied the content from RUGI and elsewhere to build up their content count so as it stands it is the only place you can still find that stuff online...I think. Since then, it is a wild west of quality but then so is much of the content at other sites, even professionally made stuff. I've had just as much success with the occasional download from RC as any other site in the last few years.
As always, with free stuff...buyer beware.
FYI the Australian template comes with the round elevs. First thing I look for to make sure students are using the Aussie template.
Oh boo I came here hoping for a "Reader's Drives" kinda thread where we were all posting the most wretched examples we've ever seen.
