Copy/Monitor Tool, not allowing me to select lighting fixtures

I've read that the copy/monitor tool can only be used for certain elements, lighting fixtures being one of them according to the Autodesk link below

however, while in the parent model and after selecting the link to copy from, Copy/Monitor only allows me to click on things like levels and floors and I can't select any lighting fixtures. These fixtures are face-based, is there anything specific I need to do with the families so that I can use them with Copy/Monitor?

It should work. We do it from RCPs. Don't know if that makes any difference.

Make sure light fixtures are on in the link and the parent model.
