    lines in 3d-model

    Hello,

I modelled a corner in revit. But I see a lot lines in 3d-model. as well in shaded as in hidden mode in 3d. These lines look like wireframes lines. they are too confusing. And not pretty to work with it.

How can I turn off these unnecessary lines?

    Kind regards,

    peter smith

    Lots of possibilities.
    Can you upload that family?

Looks to me like someone has created a very detailed profile of a storefron mullion and is using that instead of a nice simple rectangle in their curtainwall family.

My guess is a Profile either downloaded from a manufacturer, or with a ton of CAD trash in it. OR exploded from CAD Trash.

Ours arent simple rectangles (they are 9 sided with pockets), but there is no need for whats in that image. Yowzers!

    Hi,

Here is the file. Something is wrong with the setting in the revit-file. Also in the hidden mode I see many lines (see pict, left).

How can I fix that the many lines will be reduced? (the actually view the this revit-file has to be like als the picture (Rightside).

Looks like your 3D view is corrupted. Deleted that one and made a new one and all those extra lines are gone.
But I'm wondering if you really want all those details in your profile, that is going to be a pain in the ass if you have 100 of those in your project I think.

I already deleted the old 3d-view, and make a new default 3d view. but it doesn't help. Do you already try within my revit-file?
if it works, can you give me the obviously instruction? I should be that my working method isn't correctly.
    thx in advance.

Yep did that in your file.

    What I did is this:

    - make a plan view and open that
    - delete the {3D} view in your project browser
    - press the little 3D house icon to make a new {3D} view
    - all extra lines are gone
