    Center of Gravity

Hi, apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn't find much when I searched the forum but does anybody know of an add-on for finding the center of gravity for a Revit precast family in 2021?
I've seen an add-on called CG Finder for 2018/2019/2020 but there doesn't seem to be one for 2021.

    Thanks.

    Hi,
The center of gravity can be found using the Dynamo. What result do you want to get?

Thanks for the reply. I need it for some precast concrete units, for presentation purposes and to help locate lifter positions etc.
CG Finder was very quick and easy to use, just click CGFinder, click the unit and it would place the COG on whatever view needed.

I've never used Dynamo, would it be easy to locate it this way for a Dynamo novice?

Dynamo comes OOTB with a "Centroid" node, so it should be fairly simple to find the point, and place a family at that point.

Just beware that Centroid and CoG arent the same thing, as material density can play a factor. If Material Density is CONSISTENT everywhere, then you can use the centroid. But if the material density varies across the geometry of the panel, it wont be the same as the Centroid. Just something to be aware of.

@moorz123 You can try copying the installed CG Finder from the 2020 addins folder* to the 2021. Some simple plugins work after that in the new version of Revit.

    *C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\[Version]
