How do i manipulate a pdf to get a desired margin size ??

    HEY EVERYONE

Well it seems I'm here with the classic Revit forum question regarding PDF MARGINS AND PRINT SETUP.....

I just want to be able to control the size of my margins on a D size sheet. I have lost count at how many hours I've spent trying to set this sheet up perfectly. Revit always seems to generate a random margin of its own - regardless of your desired sheet size. This just needs to look good in a PDF. That is the main goal. 1.5" margin on the left side, .5" on all other sides...

    List of things I've tried:

resized my title block smaller to accommodate for actual "sheet size"

Tried messing with zoom and X Y coordinate dialogue.

Tried printing "no margins" and drawing another line that measures out to the spec

In autoCAD this would be no problem....seems like it shouldnt be hard to replicate in BIM software...right??

It is not hard at all, make a rectangle in your title block the exact size at your paper size and offset that line to where you want it to end up in your PDF, so the 1.5" and 0.5", but also keep the outer line.
Print your PDF's at 100% and centered and no margin and you should end up with what you want.

We use xrev for plots which can automatically select sheet size based on titleblock extents. Not sure on the software programming but if any labels or invisible lines are outside a known sheet size, things get screwy, even when set to centred / 100% etc.

Looks to me either something is off with your titleblock size or there still is a margin defined at the top in your printer settings.
Any change you can post an empty project with just 1 sheet so we can gave a look ?

Yeah ill attach a blank title block!

as far as i know there is now way to adjust the margins on that side besides adjusting the x axis....Ive tried the manual input and once i get the top sqaured away another margin pops up on another side.

I explored the sheet size issue a bit...here what i know. The sheet is standard D size. I set it up 36x24....I use D (bluebeam is my pdf driver) Currently have another box around the titleblock that denotes the margin. Ive tried shrinking it as well, but the same issue persists, an unknown margin always reveals itself.

One more note - the end goal is just a good looking PDF, not a large format printed sheet. Thats later down the road, for now im just trying to get it to look right when you view the PDF.

I would send you my .rfa titleblock but idk how to attach that here lol

i am using "offset from corner" because using center makes the block much smaller on the page.

So, you know this titleblock is 100% completely the wrong size, correct?
