    Tagging: Material vs Multi-category

We're planning on a massive upgrade of our families and assemblies with the goal of better automatic tagging.
    What's the preferred process:
    a.) Use a Material Tag
    b.) Define a Shared Parameter & use Multi-Category Tag

What are we tagging? Material? (as in the actual, assigned from the library, to a solid part of a family) ?

SP all the way - our material names aren't in "documenting language" - and using other fields still doesn't really suit our purposes.

Not that we (often) tag that SP - but we will schedule it.
