Identify which area scheme a schedule is associated with

I always waste a lot of time finding which area scheme a given schedule is associated with. I found something online which recommended I delete area schemes one by one until my schedule disappeared, I thought it was a joke but I can't seem to find anything else.

Anybody want to explain to me how stupid I am and just look here?

    Thanks!

Just go into the fields selector of the schedule. Look in the top left at the category it's scheduling, and it will list the specific area scheme there.

That's never worked for me. Is there something I'm missing?

Well hell. I thought i saw it somewhere, but i am evidently crazy (wrong).

Put one of the Area Schedules in question in the View Selector, itll tell you the name. This is not a very nice graph, particularly if your element ID's are longer or shorter than mine... Youll have to adjust the String Substring, or do that a little nicer. But its late and im tired, lol.

Thanks. You'd think it might have occurred to someone to include this after all these years of development.

It would be nice to find out if you could point an existing schedule to a different area scheme. We have a lot of schedules that calculate unit mix percentages, circulation vs. sellable etc. I'll look into whether dynamo can "re-home" a schedule to a different area scheme. (probably easier to just build the schedule I want based on the area scheme)

There seems to already be an idea on the Ideas page: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit.../idi-p/7423939
