    Question Bump: help needed

    hi all,

I try to have a bump effect on a material (concrete wall), but each time I render, the surface looks like a mirror, no bump at all.

Tips and ideas will be welcome.

Julien, can you show some screen dumps? or even better yet, strip down a copy of the project, and post it here?

Did you try winding up the bump scale. The default "Concrete - Cast-in-Place Concrete' render bump map usually defaults around 320x320mm which is usaually to small a scale and comes out "flat", if you have a play with the scale around 900mm to 1200mm you start to get some bump happining. The Concrete - Cast-in-Place Concrete default render mat. is a reasonable material to start with
Can't say I like any of the standard conc materials shipped with Revit. Arroway do some great render materials.

I have noticed that the few "Concrete - Cast-in-Place Concrete' materials that have bump maps associated with them, both images come in at different scales so well worth checking both image scales before loading.

Check the scale of the bump
Check the amount of bump (one time had it set to 0, doesn't really do anything in this case)
Check the repeat settings of the bump pattern
